All of the dogs produced by us are fine examples of gun dogs. By carefully
selecting the sire and dam, we are able to complement the strengths and
weaknesses of each dog. Important characteristics that demand special attention
include: temperament, trainability, desire to retrieve/work, and structure.

Beauty, Brains, and Brawn |
While labrador type is important, function is always first. A dog must be
correct in structure and in good working condition to hunt a perform at peak
levels. By maintaining balance between looks and performance, a fine working
dog is produced.
Because Calypso Labradors are bred to work, they tend to be active and require
exercise and attention. High energy dogs, like busy young children, need
structure and guidance to keep them out of trouble. Calypso labradors are
available only to select buyers who are comitted to training.
The labrador is known for its versatility; from guide dogs to hunting
companions, they excel. Currently, Calypso labradors are involved in hunting,
competitive obedience, therapy, field trails, hunting tests, agility, and
function as family pets.
